Dear Colleagues
We would like to invite you to contribute a short work-in-progress paper of approximately 20 minutes in a day-long event to be hosted by TU-Berlin June 24th 2021 from 11.00 to 18.00. We intend to have 10 papers in total organised in panels of 2/3 presentations allowing for a 15-20 minute Q and A following each panel. There will be two sessions before lunch at 13 30, and two following from 14 30 to 16.30. From 17-18 .00 we will have a more informal plenary with the co-hosts ‘in conversation’ with 2 speakers.
First a word of background. This is a follow up from the first TU-Berlin/Goldsmiths University of London event of Jan 30th 2020 (joint-hosted by Profs Martina Loew and Angela McRobbie) which considered how digital labour re-calibrated space/labour relations in the context of changing landscapes of urban governance. We could never have anticipated the almost apocalyptic impact of the virus (C19) that was making its way to our doorsteps bringing hardship, death and deep and lasting changes to our daily lives.
Our plan is to request that these working papers address some of the spatial-related issues which have been thrown into stark vision, with reference to your own range of areas of expertise and specialism.
The topics we envisage being covered might include:
The final plenary round-table will focus on the re-calibration of work, space and economy of care Martina Löw, Angela McRobbie, Emma Dowling (Wien) and Jo Littler (City)
